Default please help a real eg6

hey this is my first post on honda-tech but ive been reading and researching on this forum for the past year . anyways first of all my car is a 1992 eg6 hatch from japan and it comes with a b16a2 and it seemed to be in top shape ... i know my way around the eg hatches , this one is my third but its my first vtec engine and well my car broke down yesterday . yesterday morning the car started making a tiny grinding noise almost like the starter was stuck or somethjing like that not too loud a sound ...enyways didnt think much of it and after warming the car up and just cruzing i decided to hit a little vtec .. i took off from a stop sign in first gear and slowly climbed up the rps to 5900 then hit the gaz and after half a second of vtec the car sputerded and the engine stoped i costed to a parking lot ....tried to start her again ....no luck .. when i got her home removed the valve cover evrything seemed intact like the valves and timing belt .... so im just wondering what u guys my think is the problem ...the mods i have a skunk 2 pro intake manifold -password jdm carbon intake and apexi n1 cat back thanks for your help guys

Something like this happened in my friend's car. One of his spark plug's insulator cracked. I'm not sure if you have the same problem.

check the basics first..spark, fuel, and compression..take out the spark plugs, and try turning the engine over with a wrench on the crank pulley and listen for sounds and resistance

drain the oil and check for metal in the oil... that will let you know if any bearings were chewed up in the motor
