Default What's better Hondata S300 with P28 or P72 on H22A motor

What's better for the JDM H22A motor, Hondata S300 with P28 or P72 ECU? I know that P28 doesnt have Knock or IAB, while P72 has both

Tuning is the same so save the money and get the P28 instead. You can add the circuitry to support IAB if needed. The knock function on the P72 is overrated and can potentially cause hesitation problems, which you will probably end up disabling anyway.

Without the IAB, the engine will lose approximately 8 horses from 3k-5k rpm. So, tuning with a P72 will disable both IAB and Knock right?

No, the p28 will disable both of them.

That's because you've only tuned 2 cars, lol.

Hey Blake, I have a completely gutted IAB plate sitting around. What is the best way to close up all the holes between the runners? I was wanting to try it out on my H22 just to see if it runs any better without them.

I would either JB Weld the holes then grind them nice and flat, or spend the money on the Blacktrax spacer. Your choice. P.S. with CORRECT tuning, you can almost eliminate any power loss from removing the IABs.

yeah I was not gonna do it until I can get someone to tune it for me. I was thinking JB weld would be OK for the holes in between the runners. Blake how much is typically gained from removing the IABs? My motor is stock H22A with MSD SCI ignition and wires.

What is the operating range? 2krpm - 7krpm?
How much do you charge for a basic tune Blake? I will probably get Neptune because I have yet to hear anything negative about it.
