pretty sure when the car is new u can add the sunroof... but of course you gotta pay for it. Kinda like any other car company, when u buy a new vehicle you always have the option of adding something better from the factory such as bigger engine, different transmission, sliding back glasses (on trucks) so i dont see why u wouldnt be able to add a sunroof on a dx civic from honda.
Sunroofs were NOT offered on DX models in the US and there was no option to add it. If you wanted one, you'd have to buy an EX or Si. That's aftermarket.
BTW, A/C was an OEM option. It was added to my '95 DX Coupe.

DXes did not come FROM THE FACTORY with a moonroof.
The moonroof pictured above is aftermarket. The stock moonroof has a different assembly and requires the entire roof panel to be replaced.
The current owner is probably correct in saying it was offered to him as an option when it was new. This would be a "dealer option" and is not a Honda part.
It's just like the leather seats for 6th gen Civics. The company would contact a local company and hire them to install whatever part it was they wanted installed (this counts for tint, leather seats and a moonroof).

I had a friend with a 1993 DX and it for sure had a factory sunroof but the car had no buttons or anything to open it.Turns out the the car was in a magor side collision and the whole roof was replaced with and EX roof car had weld marks and everything car was bought at an auction so dident really check it out,but that sunroof does look aftermarket to me. This might be something to look into though before buying!!
