Default Cricket Noise

Im hearing this cricket-type noise whenever the car is running, not sure what it could be?
Post if u got any thoughts

perhaps there is a cricket in your car? lol, jk. i'd say it's the alternator belt. replace if worn/cracked. or just use some belt conditioner if you're lazy!

Yea its from the engine sounded like it was coming from around the pulley area when i checked it.

it could also be your throwout bearing in your trannsmission that is if ti a manual

only while idle? does the pitch change or does the sound go away once engine is reved? does it matter if the engine is cold or hot?

Possible issues could be the AC, Alternator, PS pump, or even the timing belt tensioner.

prof007 is rite most of the time its a alt belt, but just eleviate aggravation change out all the belts cept for timing cause it involves a little work unless it needs one that is

Yea its only when idle and the pitch doesn't change at all. Makes the sound no matter what the engine temp is. Mayb it is the alt belt. I wanna c what is b/f i go boost this wkend.

checked it and the belt looks fine shows no signs of wear
