Default Homemade hydrogen gas saver Safe?

hi, i have a friend that made his own hydrogen canister, by using a jar, putting a positive and negative to it, a hose out of the top running to the intake, and then putting in 8 oz of DISTILLED WATER and 1 teaspoon pure baking powder ( I think right mixture?) then when he flips the switch power runs to the canister and makes it boil, creating hydrogen gas, which is then sucked into the intake. I then made one and am about to hook it up in my truck, supposedly supposed to save gas by telling the sensors not to send so much gas into the chambers (2-5mpg, lasts for 900mi's). I want to know if it would be safe to use this set-up on my 1993 Turbo Honda Del Sol? and what effects it might have on power loss if any?

And exactly how much hydrogen and oxygen do you think you'll release from the water with only a single 12VDC wire dropped into it?

I don't think it will do anything, other than take up space and possibly allow you to dump water into your intake.

I'm tired of explaining this. It doesn't work. You don't understand conservation of energy, a concept you should have learned in high school.

I was thinking of trying a similar set-up. It involves methane gas and a hose from the intake to under the driver's... oh, nevermind.

LOL. This is hilarious... I bet you're just gonna suck that gallon of water into the intake and hydrolock your engine. You obviously dont know how much air goes through the engine per minute, your hydrogen powerplant will probably produce 0.000001% of the gas needed.

This has nothing to do with hydrogen volume; it's a failed comprehension of the conservation of energy.

In a normal IC engine, gasoline is converted to kinetic energy. The end.

In the hair-brained "fuel saving' engine, the energy conversion is a big cluster-**** of failure:

1. Gasoline is converted to kinetic energy
2. Kinetic energy is converted to electricity via. the alternator
3. Electricity is converted to HHO gas via hydrolysis
4. HHO gas is converted back into kinetic energy...

It's a big failure of a loop that ultimately arrives back at kinetic energy, except you'll have a lot less because there are losses at every step of the conversion process.

Do you know what the difference is between this setup vs the hydrogen setup? Collecting methane from fart to run an engine would actually work. Sure, you couldn't save enough gas to make ANY kind of difference. But at least in theory, there would be SOME gains, regardless of how completely negligible they would be (unlike the hydrogen setup).

As a side note, I should say that not all farts contain methane. But ALL farts produce hydrogen, which would work as well.

No hate, just hillarity. Some ideas are just so rediculous they deserve the response they get. However, there are the ocassional ideas that actually have some merit and a slim chance to actually work, so don't be too discouraged in the future.
