Default Tried to replace R horn, No luck though. Give this a read if you have experience in Horns

So have been daily driving my R this whole winter to work. Sometime this winter, I must have hit some sort of road debris that had enough punch in it to get at my horn. I have the horn off and have tried to fix it, but no luck. There is a little dent in it. I was able to pop it out, but it now makes enough noise to barely hear it. Before you could only hear the relay inside of the caR clicking.

So I decided to just pick up a Honda/Acura horn off of Ebay after searching through Honda-Tech(without luck). I figured a Civic horn would be a easy replacement. Well, the one I got, the harness does not come close to fitting and it actually has 2 pins in it. The R horn only has 1, and the plug is brown. Seems like any seller on Ebay never cared to take a picture of the harness as well as the horn itself.

Can anyone shed any light on this subject? Is the horn I am trying to replace R specific? Are there any other horns I could swap in, without cutting any wires?

Anyone have an EXTRA horn? Price?

I never thought this was ever going to turn into a subject within honda-tech.

I got rid of the worthless stock roadrunner horn and picked up high and low FIAMM Freeway blaster horns. About $25 shipped for the 2 off Amazon last I checked. All I did was cut off the plug and solder the new wire to the stock harness. Just had to run a jumper to the 2nd horn. Didn't bother trying to get plugs to work.

IMO, chuck the Cibic horn and get the FIAMMs. So much safer on the road

Goot thread with pics and vids.
I posted me own vid on page 3.

You can have my stock Integra horn for free, just pay shipping. As for the civic horn, the reason it has two wires is probably that some civics don't mount the horn right to the frame like Integras do, which creates the need for a ground wire. Integra horns simply ground to their mount. If you hook up the positive wire to your stock horn wire and then ground off the other wire, the horn should work just like stock.
If you're willing to play with wires, you can use a horn from damn near anything. I'm using the low-tone horn from a Ford Probe on my Teg, it sounds like a freaking semi. Good luck!

Awesome Idea! I also checked out your post in the other thread. If I ever get some free time I might want to try that out.

all you need to do to make your civic horn work on your itr is...get a plug that fits into the civic horn. cut your (1 pin itr) plug off and wire it to the positive on the (2 pin civic) plug and ground the negative wire on the 12mm bolt on your horn. very simple. i did the same to my car.
