Default Installing a universal horn button

My 2004 Honda Accord Ex's horn doesnt always work since it was crashed and doesnt have an airbag. I didnt pass the state inspection test because of this. The mechanic recommended installing a separate horn button.

How would I go about installing a horn button? I bought the button kit at autozone. I know that i have to run a ground and the horn's wire into the button. The only problem is that I dont know how to access the horn wire in order to run it into the button.

Any help or info is appreciated.

Thanks,

Frank

Change the airbag, new horn comes with it. It's illegal to drive around without an airbag, Highway Patrol can cite you for it and your safety inspector should've failed you for it as well.

If you're dead set on a horn button...

Go to a junkyard and cut the horn harness off of some other Honda. You can cut your own horn harness to make it work, but I wouldn't do that because you're most likely going to change your airbag in the future. So anyway, now that you've got your new horn harness, you need to run a wire from one end of the wires to the button and the other wire to a power source. Put a fuse on the wire going to the power source. The button will have two connections on it; one is for the wire coming from the horn, the other is to be grounded.

There you go, all done.

You can switch it up if you want by running the power to the button, then button to power source with a fuse in there, and grounding the remaining horn wire on the horn bracket itself.

Either way works, both ways are not recommended though, I'd just get a new airbag from e-bay or something man.
