Default help with Knock sensor. yes i searched

I keep on searching for this with no help.

I put in a JDM B18C motor with LS tranny and USDM engine harness. also am using JDM B18C ECU.

I had a shop wire up v-tec and the knock sensor etc..

So being used to my TSX, i put in 87 octane gas and started driving from northern cali to southern cali. about half way the engine threw a code and v-tec stopped working and the car became slow. i checked the code and only the knock sensor came up.

I later put in 91 octane and used a octane booster.

Now when i start the car everything is fine, no light or anything. but after driving down the street, the engine light comes on again and same story. slow car and no vtec.

So after reading everyone elses problem, I am wondering if the knock sensor is bad or if the shop wired it bad.

I looked and the wire is going from the firewall into the engine harness and to the knock sensor.

Someone please help. I am tired of this happening ever time I drive.

I have no help for you other than don't use 87 octane with that motor.

I'll ask my brother tho for you.

When the knock sensor code is produced, either the sensor or wiring is bad. I had someone put 89 in my car once, and the power was decreased below 4000 RPM but no code was produced.

Ok finally i found out what is going on.

I could look in between the intake manifold and could see the knock sensor but never looked again. I finally put my hand in there and the harness was unplugged.

Thanks for looking, i plugged it in and now no codes and engine runs good.
