it sounds like a vacuum leak. by any chance do you have a CEL?

My car revs up to 1,800 at idle. Its called the car isn't warm yet. If it drops off to 500-700 when its warm, theres nothing wrong with it........if it does it when its warm, check all lines going to your throttle body for leaks.

what do you have in your car a carberator? if you car is hitting 1800 RPMs while it's cold then it's called a problem.
it should be at about 1000 when cold then slowly hit 700.

Uh, my car idles at 1700 rpms when its cold for like 30 seconds then drops as temp rises. All Honda's I know do this...

In the middle of winter, both my cars idle at +/- 2k. Right now they idle at 1600-1800 rpm.
@ OP: Are you saying it idles that high when up to operating temp?

no yeah, seriously. i've never had my B16A rev that high while on a cold idle.
and i still have my stock ecu (p30).
now my old 89 honda accord (carburator), yeah that thing revved at 2000 rpms while cold.

maybe you just got lucky. any honda i've seen older than idk say 2000, does that. mine idles at something high, since i don't have a tach i'm not sure what, but it's over 1000, that's for damn sure.

My car idles (cold) at around 2100-2900 depends on idk...somedays its different btu stays within that range when cold
when warm it idles at about 1200-2000 also, some days its differen sometimes it drops to 1000 when warm...
i know i have a problem but idk how to check for Vaccum leaks

Vacuum leak or you need to adjust your IAC.
Is it surging or does it just idle at 1,500 when your idling and does it do it all the time or only sometimes?

the idle tends to surge a lil....if i turn on headlights idle moves down about 300 rpms...sometimes turning off the car and cranking it back on seems to reduce it....well hasnt worked lately now...how do i adjust the IAC? thats the flat screw on the throttle body right? would i have to tighten it or losen it? i tried tightening it yesterday but it was either stuck or tight enough...
right now, the idle problem is permanent...hasnt really gone down about 1100 at all even when warm....
lately when cold, its at about 2100-2300 rpm and approx 1300-1500 when warm....and hasnt changed from there
what i noticed is that when i redline the car, idle tends to go down to 1000

OK, well as today...i turned on car (overnight cold) rpm went to 2200 -2400 around there...(not surging) drove...(freewaY for about 30 min) got off...rpm was approx 1600
after that i redline the car first, second gear...came to a stop...idled at approx 1700
then i drove for like 2 min and came to another stop idle dropped to like 1100-1200
....So looks like idle is different half the time..but never normal and i have no idea why idle is like that.
i sprayed some throttle/air cleaner on the manifold gasket while car at idle yesterday afternoon...but idle didnt seem to move one bit while i spray it around the IM gasket(where it bolts to head)....so my next plan is to remove FITV and clean that and also the IACV, i really never messed with those things so hopefully i dont mess anything up (is any of the hoses going to the IACV or FITV filled with any type of liquid? i dont want to unplug any hose and make a mess
any comments, suggestions or tips u guys canb provide ill greatly appreciated. Thank You

you have to adjsut the FITV (fast idle thermal valve) u jsut hafta take cover off and twist it back on after a while it comes loose. its controlled by coolant but when complety off or somehting off it will stay high or surge up and down
