Hi All,

I'm about to purchase a set of Ground Control coilover sleeves, Koni yellows and top hats for my AUDM 2000 Honda Integra Type R (DC2R).

I plan on driving the car on the street mainly with 1-2 trackdays a year. So I need something that rides near stock.

Doing abit of research I have found the stock dc2r rates to be:

Front: 246 lb/in | 4.4 kg/mm
Rear: 140 to 246 lb/in | 2.5 to 4.4 kg/mm (progressive)

I only want to drop the car 15mm on my GC setup as practicality is a major concern of mine (Australian roads are really sh*t!!).

I'm thinking of running:

Front: 300 lb/in | 5.5 kg/mm
Rear: 250 lb/in | 4.3 kg/kmm

Your thoughts on this? I don't want to compromise handling for comfort either.

Anyone with a DC2R and the same setup have any recommendations?

if it were my car I would go with at least 350 front and rear, i have 380f and 330 rear on hatch but its lighter than the type r. I am only lowered like 1.5in max, it's stiffer than stock but its comfortable on the street , also keep in mind the stock rates on my car are lower than yours

Why do you run same rates front and rear? are there any advantages of it?

more over steer and a more neutral feeling

i run 350/250 on my ls. this is a very comfortable setup if you set the dampening to full soft. setting it to full stiff, the car will be somewhat stiff. i think GC recommends 380 in the front to compensate for the heavy front of our cars. the stiffer the rear is, the stiffer overall your car will be.

 

stock type r I believe is 250f and 250r, keeping the rates the same front and rear would prevent you from upsetting the balance that the car has from the factory, I went with a lower rate in the rear so I could get a more comfortable ride on the street

Torque-Correct GC recommends:
Rate: F-380 R-250 | F-6.8 kg/mm R-4.5 kg/mm
Drop: F&R- .75-3.5

egsleeper, you are right. However the rear is progressive. I'm aiming for neutral, inragards to handling.

I think I might go with GC's recommendations.

 

i have 450/350 rear. I actually enjoy riding in other peoples car. lol.

those were the rates i was looking at getting what is wrong with them are they stiff and do you have alot of under steer or over steer i will be having a 22mm rear sway i dont know if you have that or not
