Default ABS Light On

Alright so the other day i changed both front brake pads and rotors on my 1996 civic si and when it came to the driver side i had to replace both CV boots on the drive shaft after that we installed everything put the tires on and had the car on axle stands and put the car in gear to hear if everything sounded good so it did than i hit the gas a little bit and the ABS light came on, so i took the tires off took out the sensor and cleaned it and the part of the shaft that it comes into contact did this on both sides and now i'm at a stand still what else could be the problem?

Make sure you didn't damage the tone ring on the outer joint, or the sensor and its harness while removing the driveshaft. They have a habit of failing if you provoke them after its stayed that way for years.

The clock spring/cable reel is located behind the steering wheel. The clock spring is not wired up to your ABS. Just to make sure, it is your ABS light that is on and not your SRS light? A bad cable reel will cause the SRS light to come on, the cruise control and horns to fail.

And the fuse is located under the dash. It should be a 7.5A.

uhhh the ABS and SRS systems are totally separate, do not mess with the steering column.

its on the outer joint like i just said, outer being furthest away from the center of the car. its a big aluminum ring that looks like a gear stamped onto it.
