what do cover when engine degreasing?

Default what do cover when engine degreasing?

i need to know what to cover on my 05 type-s when spraying those engine degreaser. I know of course the ait filter but what else important? thanks

I'd cover things like the alternator, and remove the battery. Do you have a CAI or a short ram. I'd take that off and seal up the throttle body port.

i have a sri. i'll take that off, as well as the battery. will plastic bag go over the alternator okay? so that's it? thanks

You should be fine. I plastic bag anything I think might be vulnerable when I degrease my engines.

You're honestly pretty safe not covering anything, just dont' do it with a pressure washer and don't heavily saturate obvious areas such as the alternator and coil packs.

if your using a really strong degreaser like simple grren i would be selective about where you spray. Dont just start spraying all over your bay you may corrode some rubber hosing

my father has a pro auto detail and onwed a shop for more than 15 year only once had a honda alternator acted funny. air filter you could cover other than that your good. i must also remind u NOT to use industrial grade ish it will stain things like the raidiater abd other dark metals hope this helps

go to your local napa auto parts and buy this stuff in a windex bottle called body pro and use that **** works so much better than degreaser and its safe for all wiring and everything so u only gotta coveryour intake **** works so awesome

the difference with mine is that i have a cold-air
but other than that
i've simple green the entire bay
let it sit
rinse and repeat if needed
done this method a few times and it works great

Are you using the simple green that's in a windex bottle alike? Are there different kind of simple green? The general cleaning simple green you're using right. I can't remember but i seen people talked about simple green for their engine and bay cleaning. Where can i get those? thanks
