NEED HELP WITH TEG
I HAVE A 95 LS AND IT SAT FOR A YEAR. THEN I PUT A MOTOR IN IT AND IT STARTS UP FINE RUNS FINE UNTIL YOU DRIVE IT A COUPLE OF MILES, THEN IT STARTS TO SPUTTER AND SMOKES (WHITE) AND SMELLS LIKE RAW GAS, AND IT HAS A LOSS OF POWER. BUT YOU CAN LET IT SIT FOR 10-15 MIN AND ITS FINE UNTIL YOU DRIVE IT AGAIN. JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS HAD THOSE PROBLEMS THAT COULD HELP ME. PLEASE

no i havent got a chance to drain the gas but, the motor was in great shape cause my bud bought it from me and it runs his car just fine. do you think that the fuel filter would cause such a thing? I dont think its in the wiring cause its been double checked and there is no cels. If anyone knows please let me know!
I drained the gas out of the tank, and put a new filter put fresh 93 octane and it still does it. The motor is a fully built b18b1, but it did the same problem with the stock one
Thanks guys for the info. but it wasnt anything anyone said, it was the o2 sensor so if anyone else has this problem it might not through any cels, and you can check the volts and its fine, but i changed it and it was the sensor.
OBD1 car which you have will be very hard to set a CEL, the criteria to set a CEL wasnt as strict as it is now with OBD2. As for the o2 sensor what tests did you do? Obviously it fixed it since you say it runs good now but an 02 sensor can look ok but may fail a sweep test makin it inefficient.
