tranny fluid help please
I've searched, lots of noise out there on this topic.
I have a trackday on Sunday. Just got the car in yesterday. I don't think the tranny fluid has been changed in a looong time.
from searching the consensus seems to be either Honda MTF or GM syncromesh. so I think syncromesh comes in several varieties, with and without slip modifiers.
It's a Y21 5speed with a stock ITR LSD.
any recommendations? cars going in the shop tomorrow for brake/clutch bleed, tech inspection, lubricants change, etc.
thanks!!

Engine oil works fine too. I use Valvoline Durablend 10W-30 (same weight as in the engine). I was told not to use the full synthetic in the tranny when using brass syncros.
i never had good luck with the MTF from honda. It would be fine for 3 or 4 laps then it would start to grind on all the shifts.
I started running redline MTF and it was fine for the whole session.
