What do you guys think.....on a stock block, stock internals, ect.....I'm running 7 psi with the greddy turbo kit. I wanna either spary a 100 shot using a direct port kit or get a greddy 2mm head gasket and run like 14 psi. Anyone tried anything this stupid yet?? By the way, I have a D16Z6. Let me know which would be safer even though both are a huge risk. Thanks.

the safest thing would be the 2mm head gasket and raise the boost ( not to 14psi though) assuming you can deliver the required fuel.

 

yea i'm seriously considering getting a thicker gasket too. i heard good things about the inline pro 27mm. one question is, how much can i boost on a b16 if i do this? also, wouldn't i need somekind of standalone fuel management compensate for the lowered compression? one thing i don't understand is, doesn't lowering compression have to do with raising the volume/area within the cylinders? then, y is it for example, 8:1, 9.2:1 compression ratio? these numbers are refering the air to fuel ratio right but there is more space there so that should be air wouldn't it? i'm still very new at this so i appreciate all your help and comments. thanx

Well, the full story is that I wanna do this for one race....just one. I have a friend with a gsr with intake, header, exhaust and a 100 shot of nitrous, a friend with a 02 mr2 spyder with intake, exhaust and 75 shot, and a friend with a civic hb with a jdm spec b18c, intake, header, exhaust and a 75 shot. We're gonna line the 4 of us up and race to see who is that fastest in the group and I wanna go all out for just one race. I know this sounds like something out of the fast and the furious but who cares, it will be a lot of fun. By the way, I have a spare d16z6, so if I blow my engine I wont be too pissed. So with that said, 100 shot or more boost?

 

i'd day go ahead since you don't care about losing your engine. but remember It doesn't even have to blow up, it can just get some internal damages that will cost you a grip in the long run. I'm thinking, wouldn't it be better if you sold both engines for a swap or just sold one to buid up the bottom end? Since you're getting that head gasket you'd have to take apart your engine anyway you might as well drop a little more money and add a few aftermarket parts that will let you go all out. Why waste something that's in perfect working condition? i don't know, just my 2 cents

I'm gonna rebuild the spare d16z6 I have, but until then, I need some serious power for this race.

 

I have a better idea... sell the spare d16z6 to me.

Youll be fast for about 3 seconds, then youll lose the race because your engine will have blown up. you and your buddies have obviously watched the fast and furious WAY too many times, we are all just trying to save you a blown motor, its your choice if you want to listen or not...

 

Definitely not trying to be fast and furious here, but the fact is my friends are all sparying and I don't wanna be the bitch of the group so I'm looking for a way to win. Im taking a chance here....more boost or nitrous, all I wanna know is what has a less chance of blowing up, though they both are extremly risky... cheers to taking chances in life
