Default Funky Idle and No Code

O.k. before everyone gets angry and tells me to search. I already did. My idle problem seems different from anything Ive read up on. Ive searched every honda forum I can find and they all say the same thing. A code 14 or 17, vacuum leak, etc. Well I dont have an error code, and Ive checked all of my vacuum hoses and they're fine. The car will idle very erratically from start to stop. Its the d15b1 completely stock. No tach but idle fluctuates from around 1200-1700 rpm(Im guessing here). The weird thing about it is that again I have no error code and when it is cold/wet outside it seems to run fine(sometimes). Also I doesnt ALWAYS fluctuate. Sometimes it will stay high. I have no idea and am starting to become very frustrated every time I put the clutch in. Some one PLEASE help.

Thought of that myself but when iacv problems were described in other posts, the driver usually had to press the accelerator in order to get the car started. I have absolutely no problem starting the car and even at normal temperature it idles the same. Any other possibilities? Im full of coolant and have normal compression as well.

Try taking the IACV off and cleaning it. I bet it's really dirty and could use the cleaning anyways.

It is the iac valve. Thats the same thing my car did. I have the same engine. Replace the iac valve and it was fixed. No idle problem after that..

the car generally runs fine. obviously no power with the b1 but other than the idle its fine. like i said sometimes i start it and it will idle fine, other times it fluctuates. Sometimes it will studder SLIGHTLY on acceleration, right after start, if it has been sitting for a while, but just for a few seconds. guess Ill try cleaning some crap, i mean it is 17 years old....oh and this is the whole time the car runs...cold, hot, whatever...

I have the same problem in my 1990 crx. Sometimes (most of the time) the car, while at idle, will surge from 1000rpm to about 1800rpm. I have checked everything mentioned above, to no avail. I found that if I lift the hood and fool around with the throttle wire it will stop temporarily. Also, I just discovered today that if I pull up on the gas pedal (with my foot or my hand while at a stop) the problem will go away as well and the car will idle lower (at about 700prm). I just can't figure out how to adjust the cable so it will become a permanent fix. Any suggestions?
