my head unit was playing music fine then all of a sudden just stopped playing and wont trun back on...it will show the time and eject/load discs. idk whats going on....help?
If the time is correct, check the HU acc. fuse, in the under dash fuse box and in it's acc. lead, if it has one, also make sure the HUs acc. lead is connected properly.
As asked, what is the MM&Y of car, and make and model of HU?

If it's powered up but there's no sound, it's most likely a grounded speaker wire or speaker terminal. This will put the deck into protect mode. Some crappy decks, ie Kenwood, will go into protect mode if you turn them up too loud with too much bass and will need to be reset.
Have you checked to see if you have 12V+ acc. on the HUs red lead?
Have you checked the fuses?
You also have not said if the time is correct, or does it reset to 12:00 each time you turn off the ign.?
You said, "...it will show the time and eject/load discs." is that with the ign. on or off?
You can "reset" any HU by disconnecting the batt. neg.(-) cable, wait a few min. and reconnect it.
Most HUs will "initialize" or "power up" when you reconnect the ground to the batt.. all settings will go to default and the CD transport will cycle, [no matter what mode it is in] to the CD ejected mode, [or ready for loading mode, if no disk in the transport].
Please answer all the above questions as accurately as you can, it will make it easier for us to help.
If you do not already have one, here is an owners guide... http://resources.jvc.com/Resou...B.pdf is that the correct one?
