Default LS power drop?

ok.. so im finally putting my LS in my 94 sol and have some questions about it... the ls hp takes a dive at about 5200 rpm and ultimately dies to 80 hp at 7000 rpm... will a good port and polish take care of this drop or at least help it?... and if not what will stop this b/c i don't want my car to feel like a geo at 5200 and beyond...

well im really wanting to keep this all motor nontec... and if it comes down to it i'll put a vtec head on it.... but i just wanna be different and go nontec N/A... right now my plans for it are.. GSR pistons, crower stage 2 cams springs valves and retainers, edelbrock IM & TB, a really really good p&p, 90 shot of spray and tune the **** out of it... just wondering how much this will stop the power loss at the end... b/c if it doesn't than im gonna go the SC route

im not looking to be the fastest... i just love all motor cars more than turbo.... and i want the satisfaction of being able to stomp on b16's and mabye some GS-R's with a nontec....i've seen it done... a built b18b, B16 tranny, LSD, and he was running low 14's without spray

I have seen a dyno sheet for 190hp/NA/b18b1. I think it was in a thread on TI. If I remember correctly it had a nice wide and flat band of usable torque and kept building hp up to almost 9k. I really appreciate the feel of an NA motor, especially on a driver. With enough time and money, nothing is impossible.

na is not a bad choice. but you need to have the money to back your *** up though. i've seen 12 sec. all motor civic and integra's at our local drag strip. so a fast all motor is not "impossible".

you guys need to do a little searching in the all-motor section.

King Motorsports is making ~205whp on their built LS, and its not like they're doing any secret power adders, its just a well built motor.

as for a fully built gsr making 200(whp, i'm assuming) that is still not terribly difficult and its being done all the time if you mozy on over to the all-motor section.
