Well basically i want good USABLE power in my ls.. if i knew how to read compressor maps i would... I want good spool that will bring me to the stock redline of a LS..... so is a .48 fine or would a .63 do better?

get the .63 you'll love it. but i think you should get a vtec head. My .63 is all maxed out. At 6000 rpm that is where my peak hp is, and all of a sudden my power is lost. I lose about 100 hp and 100 tq from 6000 to 7200. And it is all because of the ls head thats haveing the problem. I have crower turbo cams, crower springs, and ported head. Its sucks to loose that much power.

Do yourself a favor and get the .63, the lag is not that bad, really. I have a SC50 on my stock ls and it is great, love the top end power. I can drive it around daily without even seeing boost, but I know its there waiting muahahhaa. Only thing I hate is rolling into 3rd, I hate my ls tranny for that.

At 9 psi the .48 should pull hard to redline. I run a 14b which has an even smallere a/r than .48 and it does. In fact I know guys who run 20 psi and pull hard to redline. I don't understand why so many people run such big a/r's when they only plan on running under 10 psi on stock internals. There is little gain by running such a large a/r for this setup. Unless you like lag I guess.

I went with the .63 for two reasons...

1) I bought my basically brand new SC50 for $475

2) So when I do build the motor, I dont have to worry about upgrading the turbo

Full boost for me (7 pounds) is about 4000rpm in 2nd if I roll into it. Oh how I love 2nd. First gear builds boost, not sure exactly how much, always watching the tach (and road ) cause 6875 comes up really fast.

If I redline first it will spin at the top, shift to second (depending on road conditions) will usually spin for a couple of seconds then grab. If I roll into second it holds traction (bairly) and pulls really hard.

but anyway, .63 is fun

you sure it's not your tuning?? all i have is a ported head (done by myself) and my whp is stable (+/- 5 whp) from 6k all the way to 7.2k.

anyway, try getting the .63 like everyone else says...you won't regret it

I don't think its tuning, because i have seen a lot of LS dyno and they all do that.
