Civic Style Radiator
I have noticed that many turbo'd ludes have civic radiators to save space in their bay. Are there any downsides to doing this?
Also ive noticed that most of their are made by aftermarket companies. Is that because the stock civic radiator isnt compatible with a lude?

From what I understand...one of those half-size civic radiators will work fine, but you have to figure out how to mount it properly...and the coolant hose connections are too small for prelude coolant hoses. There's some sort of pvc pipe+silicone fix for this...you'd have to search around for the walk-through.

You shouldn't have any temp problems with a Civic rad.
The aftermarket ones are close to the same price as an OEM and they are thicker and better at cooling than an OEM. Plus they're shinier
I did a little how-to on it: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1189079

my car has a PWR civic rad on it. it was wanting 2 run hot when i was driving on the street, i put a fan on it and its been just fine, even sitting in traffic forever on a hot georgia day. If u do go this route i wouldnt get a factory civic rad, go with something more efficent or u might run into problems..

I been tryin to do research on the PWR rad for my '01. How was the install? More specifically the hoses...

The Mishimoto brand 1/2 size radiators on eBay allow you to use the factory hoses from a Prelude.

For a boosted car, the aftermarket ones are good insurance, but I run an oem del sol rad on my lude, its a stock aluminum core with plastic end tank rad, and it cools my h22a just dandy. the plus of my setup, is I use a stock civic fan which bolted right on, and plugged straight into the prelude harness.

the half size is great for a car thats never really constantly pushed, but lots of people have realized that the car heats up pretty quick if they are doing pull after pull.
I guess that would be expected but it can lead to problems if you arent keeping a close eye on your heat guage.
