well thats the only reason i thought of getting it, to tighten up my frame.

a roll cage....might seem a lil too excessive in a sol.

how come u wouldnt trust it?

age old argument, with a harness bar and a harness, in the event of a roll over you're trapped if the roof collapses. It will compress your spine and possibly kill you.

I have a harness bar in my hatch, it has no problems holding the schroth harness I have on it.
The two struts are key, there has to be some up/down support, it doesn't have to be much, but not having them will allow the bar to rotate up and down.

yes, a cage or at least front hoop is best, but if you're not going to do anything that would get you even close to rolling the car, then it's not really a bid deal IMO.
It's really personal choice if the risk is worth it.

first off
I have dealt with/bought off the seller of the bars on eBay
bought a blox velocity stack and filter from him
name is Andy and a really great guy/seller
took care of me well

second,
I've been in the market for a harness bar every since I got my bucket seats in my sol
I'm pretty sure eg/dc/ek bars won't fit
heard something about an EF one maybe fitting

so I figured my only options were to fab one myself
cause thats what most of the people that have harness bars in their del sols said they did
had theirs custom fabbed
or buy an existing one and modifying it

then I saw those ones on eBay and that Andy was selling them and e-mailed him to tell him I was interested...

he said this:

"I sell quite a few of those bars. The only thing is, they haven't been test fitted for the Del Sol. So you might want to take a look at the measurements to make sure it is compatible with your car."

and then this:

"I had a customer who was interested in the harness bar for a Del Sol. He's from Europe, so I'm not sure if the USDM version is different. Anyway, he said from pillar-to-pillar, the vehicle measures 44". The shortest bar I have is at 47". Although he bought it, he said it will require some modification. So check with y our DS to see if you may have the same issue."

So basically it seems like it needs to be shortened in the middle
which may not be too bad...cut and weld....
specially considering the price of these

probably not worth doing to a sparco bar
but these it might...

Still debating and might just fab one up from scratch myself
so its perfect/custom for my heigh and seat position

thanks for the responses,
i was looking at the measurements too.
but if it does need modifying no worries, cuase yea ur rigth better than messing with sparco bars.

and i was thinking bout rewelding all weld spots again anways, cuase last time i bought some somthing( H- brace) from ebay,
the two front place where you bolt into tore right off at the welds.

alright i'll buy these soon, test them, modify them, see how they do, and post up info.

plus yes i no its an old age argument :D
-ive searched

roll cage or not.

and yea it depends on what YOU want, like every thing else

I prefer the harness bar over the roll cage.
im not gonna be doing anything that would make my car roll.

and even if by chance i did....then it was my time to go. (knock on wood).

what it boils down to is this,

are you willing to trust a ebay bar harness with your life. personally i'd go with a more reputable brand. your choice though.

Looks pretty good
Nice job cutting the trim pieces around the brackets
If anything its a good c-pillar/tie-bar for chassis stiffness to prevent flex
and the damn roof/top from squeaking all the time LOL

I wouldn't try and mount harnesses on it either since its kind of high
Good thing you kept the seats belts
which is what I plan to try and do myself as well..

Went out and put it in today was actually really easy little bit of adjusting with a hammer and it went right in lol once I got it in figured it out pretty quick they go from the bar to the seat belt mount hole on the door side
