Default h22 bottom end question

Ok guys here is my situation. Currently i have a h22a1 with 253,000km to its name. not sure what that is in miles. I just got my brand new h22a4 head, new springs, retainers, valves, completely cleaned, new seals, guides, decked, and it had a nice P&P job done to the whole head.

My plans for this include boost now since boost is cheaper for me than nitrous and replacing all the new headwork with new sk2 internals and cams. I plan on running 250-270whp on the stock block and rebuilt head.

My question is. Should i buy a lower km block and slap this head onto it or should i put this new head onto my old block. My old block has absolutely nothign wrong with it. It does not burn a dot of blue, it has perfect compression, and drives better than my last engine with 180,000km on it. With used engines it is obvious that the maintance reflects how it will run compared to the km's.

Either way i go the new block or my current (old) block will be getting a new oil pump assembly, a new water pump, plugs, wires, timing belt, and complete gasket set, balance shaft eliminator kit.

The way i am looking at it is that if i buy a used block with 60-80,000km it is completely possible for that block to run like uber crap since i don't know what it ran like while it was running and it is so easy for someone to lie to me about the milage.

What do you guys think? I need some help. It could save me $500 dollars for so this is pretty important to me seeing as i am still in university.

Well, this is what is was talking about. My old prelude had less miles on it and ran worse than this one. Idk, more feedback is welcome.

turbo might not be a good idea with that head because now you have bumped the comprasion with the decking. i would use an h22a1 block they are 10 to 1 h22a and a4 are 10.5 to 1 just a thought

either way a stock block is almost guaranteed to blow shortly, lower your compression or get forged internals

u can always use a block saver to keep the boost from blowing out your engine

block guards are useless and potentially harmful.

plus he is closed deck and cant use a block guard.

why is this?

you could mill the pistons down and then have the tops heat coated so you take some boost that would be less than 500. other than that time to buy some gold series turbo pistons

considering you have a new head, and are not too sure about the block because it is used and abused but runs great hah........why not buy a f22 block and construct yourself a g series turbo....the parts are fairly cheap

I don't really want to shell out money for a built bottom end. I actually already owned a complete benson built bottom end but had to sell it for my tuition . I will build one in a year or two.

There have been countless stock h22 bottom ends that last years with this same milage. I think i have my mind made up. i am just going to risk the stock engine and enjoy! if it explodes than i will pick up a newer stock bottom end and rebuild the blown up block with a full bottom end build.

do a leakdown, see if your rings are leaking any. if they are, see if anyone in your area can do a hone on FRM. just re ring your stock pistons....

OR

get some all motor cams and run your car all motor until you can afford to do a bottom end build, sell the cams.....your good to go.

it had a leak down. Came back great. Rings are in excellent shape.

As for your idea it is what i originally planned to do, but i just don't feel like doing it hahaha. Tuning costs money and i would prefer to just save my money and buy it all at once and not have to have the cost of retuning involved.
