Default my h22 build

so i have obtained an h22a4 for about 45$(super deal! ), and so far everything is disassembled , the block looks really good, just some burrs where one of the thrust washers go, so the block is bare now, and next week or so i am sending it to get hot tanked, cleaned and resurfaced. and also the head to get hot tanked and cleaned and resurfaced with a 3 angle valve job. My question is: what do i need to leave in the head(or remove) when i take it to the shop. mind you i am getting a whole new valve train, but right now just the stock valve train is in it. and also does anything need to be in the block. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

Post Re: my h22 build

Ok I just went through all of this with my f20c1, and if you are doing the work yourself, take everything apart. I would just send the bare block and the bare head. Also depending on how long the engine sat for, I would also consider removing the freeze plugs. You would then gaurantee that you would end up with a completely clean engine inside and out. If you are sending the engine to someone to do the build for you, I would suggest to leave the engine as a longblock minus the the manifolds of course. Everywhere I went told me they will only return the engine in the condition in which they recieved it. Dont know if this will help or not but hopefully it does. - Ryan
