Default Couple of problems with my ek

I just picked up a 98 ek hatch and I have some issues with it:

First problem is the gas mileage, I am getting less than 20 MPG which is extremely high for a Honda, there's definitely some problem with the engine that I can't figure out, it seems to run fine. Any ideas? other than the regular spark plugs, air filter, O2 sensor, etc.

Second is the heater fan, it was making some noise on level 3 and 4 for a while and yesterday it decided to quit working completely. I searched but couldn't find any DIY's on how to fix this issue? where's this fan located? easy to get to?

Third: Couple of days ago I got hit in a parking lot and the driver side side mirror broke, any DIY on how to install new one? any aftermarket options for side mirrors? they're manual.

Other than this stuff it seems to be a pretty decent car, I'm planing a lot of mods with this car, seems to have a lot of potential.

Thanks.

A.

1) check the catalytic converter for bad gas mileage. those things have a tendency to clog up. Mine has the same problem, those Y7 exhaust manifolds are crap.

2) The heater thing your talking about is called a blower motor. not sure where it is exactly on a civic (a helms or chilton manual should say) but its a fairly quick and simple replacement. Took me an hour to do in a 93 integra. The part alone should be no more then 40-50 dollars new.

3)As for the mirrors, its a fairly simple task to replace them. Pop off the side cover and remove the three bolts holding them on. slide them out. There are plenty of aftermarket mirrors at hand. Depending on your price range they have:
-spoon
-OEM honda civic type r
-Bomex
-And cheapo ebay m3 style mirrors.

I hope that helps you a little.
