EK overheating problems
Hi, I have a 98 Ek Sedan with a B16A engine. The past few weeks the temp gauge has been climbing up a bit. It occasionally goes past the middle mark and then dips down again. Normal setting for the car before was that the temp needle would be a bit below half. But lately it oftentimes goes up to around half, then dips down again. One time it even went as far as 3/4th and then went down. I've checked and it seems that the aux fan doesn't always turn on in time. When I'm stopped, the fan won't turn on until i rev the gas, then after a few seconds it will turn off again. I've checked all the electrical connections and they are fine. This problem mostly happens during the night, especially when starting from first gear, then when I shift to second it goes down immediately. My mechanic says that it may be electrical interference as civics are particularly known for this. Any truth to that?
Also, isn't it that when you disconnect the fan wire from the thermoswitch, the fan should be activated all the time? I tried disconnecting it and it still alternates between on and off. Please help. Thanks!

Re: EK overheating problems (Benj)
I had this happen once, but my thermostat was sticking. Did you replace this when you did the swap? It's only like 5 bucks, and might as well replace it anyway. The fan's not going to turn on until there's hot water in the readiator. And if the tstat is sticking, not enough hot H2O is coming in to make the fan turn on. I would check that first.
