Default Si cluster into 99 Dx speedo problem

I recently bought a Si cluster over the internet. I installed it into my car with no prior problems because I was sick of not having a tach. After I installed it and turned the ignition to the "on" selection, the speedometer jumped to 18 mph. Is it a faulty cluster? is it the car? does the cluster need to be calibrated?

Could be a faulty cluster. Like H22 asked, does the speed increase from 18 MPH?

if it increases like normal but zeros at 18 i say remove the needle and drive along side a friend at say 30 or something and slap the needle back on. cruise around some more and make sure its accurate. or have a shop calibrate it and youll know its correct

have your cluster ready to come out. turn the key when it goes to 18mph disconnect the cluster. put the needle back to 0. reconnect and see what happens
