Default 4" Aluminum Exhaust Question

I can get 30, 60, or 90 degree bends.. with 6",10",or 12" radius..

What do typical eg's need, its a drag only car and isnt streeted.. do I even need bends or is it pretty easy to do w/ pie cuts.

why aluminum? it's more expensive, harder to weld (you can only GMAW and TGAW it,

and you p[robably could not GMAW aluminum piping becuase of it's thickness (too thin).

pie cuts create more work for you, you can do a straight back design but what are you going to do........we need more info on what you want out of your setup, not waht a typical eg takes becuase you could have a side exit,

straight pipe, half an exhuast. we don't know what muffler you're going to run ETC

for an eg you will need the 6" radius or smaller.

mid pipe you will need : one 90* and two 45*

over the lca part you will need : four 45* or two 90*

cool thanks. I'll order the al and report back.

I could mig it, I do thinner at work all the time, but tig would look nice. I searched all day for a photo of a straight back system but could not find one. Like I stated in my original post, its a drag only car.. Never streeted, so I might do straight back

Not mine but if it's a race car why not straight pipe all the way back like this 4" aluminum exhaust.

Might do it that way... I'm new to fabricating stuff like this, I'm trying to do pretty much every part for my car though, its a fun learning experience.

I just ordered from global tech, $150 shipped for (2) Straight 4ft sections (3) 90's and (2) 45's.

Unless he plans on taking his fuel tank out, he will have to go the oem route.

i did two daily driven supras with .120 wall 6061 tube. pie cuts. its been a couple months with no problems.

i cut the pies on a mitre saw. take about 15 minutes to cut 3 90's worth. total cost would be around $100(pipe only). only expensive thing is the aluminum v-bands. welding takes more time, but with the thick wall, you can run beads pretty quick and still get a great finish.

youngs performace = $60 with or without o-ring

if its a race car only, i would use .063 wall 6061 which can be had just about anywhere. you want to keep your radius tight.

global techs radius =
