Default Best replacement brake rotors for RSX-S?

After some searching, I didn't come up with anything directly answering my question.

I like my RSX-S, and except for the brake rotors, I haven't had any problems with it. From day one, the rotors would rust to the point the car would make a loud crack noise when the pads broke free of the rusted rotors if it was parked for several hours after driving in the rain. Then a rumbling/scraping sound was heard for the first few stops.

I prefer to keep my car OEM, but I am reluctant to replace my rotors with the same poor quality steel rotors that came with the car. So, now my questions...

Are the OEM Acura replacement rotors also prone to excessive rusting, or did Acura realize the problem and upgrade to a better supplier? If not Acura parts, it seems Brembo is popular. Are they really that good, or is brand loyalty clouding the opinions? What about rusting on Brembos? Are stainless steel rotors a practical alternative? Would special pads be required on stainless?

Thanks for any knowledgeable input you can provide.

All conventional rotors are cast iron not stainless steel. They will all rust to some degree. Brembo blanks would be the equivalent to OEM quality. Btw, what makes you think OEM rotors are poor quality?

just stick with stock. The rotors rust even when I wash the car. It's normal.

i currently have the rotora slotted rotors with the E-coat. I actually like them plus they have more bite (of course being slotted) then OEM flat surfaced rotors.

Don't need a big brake kit unless you're trying to run lots of HP and your trackin (drag or course) your car constantly. DD it'd be a waste of money.

I have poweslot rotors on my EP3. They don't seem to rust when sitting wet as much as my old stock rotors did. And you can hardly tell they are aftermarket with my stock wheels.

Yeah i finally got rid of that nasty screeching noise i had. When i get unlazy i'll match the rears with the fronts. It's kind of like matching your socks. lol. then i'll do the brake lines and replace the front calipers with the rotora minis. I have no complaints what so ever neither.

Of all the Honda/Acura products I have owned, these rotors are the worst. I realize all steel will develope some surface rust. However, I have never had a to put up with a loud crack as the pads break free of the rotors or have such an extended period of grinding noise the first several stops. This will always happen after parking it for several hours after driving in the rain or even after washing the car. The degree of surface rusting is excessive based on my past experience. That's why I asked if Acura changed suppliers to minimize the problem I am experiencing with my stock OEM rotors ('03 vintage).

What kind of pads are you running? And I have yet to see any rotors, even Hondas, develop the kind of rust you are speaking of.

Stock (original) OEM rotors and OEM (Honda/Acura) replacement pads.

I haven't either. That's what is so frustrating. It makes me hesitant to buy OEM replacement rotors if nothing has changed.

Thanks to all of you for your input so far.

Regardless of the opinions in some posts, rotors are pretty much rotors. Some are 'treated', but that wears off quickly on the actual pad-swept area.

My advice is to head to Advance Auto and buy the normal replacement rotors. Don't get caught up in the hype of Brembo or cross-drilled or slotted as neither will help your car stop any quicker in normal daily driving.

It seems to only be your car that has problems with the rotors. I too have an '03 with stock rotors and i have never expierenced that type of problem. Maybe you have defective parts..it happens.
