o2 sensor problem...........need help please
i just put a d16b in my civic and the plug for the o2 sensor is not fitting.the new sensor on the motor is 1-wire.the cars harness is a 4-wire.the ecu is a p08 that i got with the motor.that ecu doesnt require a 4-wire o2 sensor.i took the old sensor off the old motor(4-wire)just so i would have something.but the check engine light comes on and i checked it and im getting code 1.any help will be appreciated thanx.
You will need an O2 that matches your ECU your using. Also your O2 might be damaged. its always good to replace with a new one. I had used an old one but get a CEL untill i replaced with a new one and CEL went away.
i still need to know what to do about the wiring.i have the 4-wire o2 hooked up now but when i go to put in the 1-wire o2 it doesnt fit the plug on the cars wiring harness.do i just cut those 4-wires and splice my 1-wire o2 into the white wire on the harness and forget about the rest or do i have to do something else.another ?,can i use the 4-wire and just eliminate the other wires.kinda tight on $ right now.thanks
