We have been messing with this car for about 3 weeks and cannot find the problem of why the car is not getting any spark. We are getting fuel pressure and the car is turning over like a charm but there is absolutley no voltage at the distibutor. We have checked all the ignition wires and fuses and they all seem to be good. All the grounds are good as well. We came across this relay under the dash and it runs throught the ignition wiring and we pulled it and took it to a honda dealer but they couldnt find a part number or a diagram showing this thing. We are soo stumped. Any help would be appreciated !!!!Thanks guys.
Heres some pics of this relay

We believe this is factory, we just need to be able to replace it but honda says they cant get it?? Does anyone know where I can find one? Advanced Auto said they cant get it either??
Run power straight to the dist from the batt. and see if that helps, if so you know its not that relay.

so your saying run a wire from the battery to the distributor plug and then try to crank it? would that fry anything like my distributor
The relay you're showing is a 5 pin SPDT relay. This should be easy enough to test. All you need to do is find the normally closed circut (easy enough using the resistance scale on your MM) to eliminate those two pins as the coil. Now you're down to 3 pins. Two of the three are the coil pins. The last pin is the normally open circuit pin. The easiest way to find the two coil pins on the relay is to hotwire the relay. To hot wire, one coil pin needs ground, and the other needs power (+). It doesn't matter which coil pin gets what (power or ground). When you've found the correct coil pins, the relay will click. At that point you can actually test the relay using a battery and a MM.
In the case that the pins are actually marked....this is how it goes,
-pin 30 and pin 87a are the normally closed pins
-pin 85 and 86 are the coil pins
-pin 87 is the normally open pin (to work with pin 30 when the relay is energized).
In the event that you knew this already, I was not insulting your intelligence

well we tested it with alagator clips and my battery it clicked but it made a weird clicking noise. different click than the other relays. but without that relay in the car wont turn over. i ordered a relay from honda yesterday it ended up being the wrong relay cause it doesn't show it in ther computers. i order another one today. do you know what relay it is?
Because IslandSi said the car wouldn't crank without the relay. With the relay pliugged in, the car does crank. That makes me think that the relay is doing it's job.......I might be wrong. Keep us posted, GL.
all the wires that go to the plug are factory honda wires and its a mitsuba relay which honda does have mitsuba relays. the black wire with the yellow stripe is one of the wires that goes to the relay. My hondata is throughing code 15 which is ignition
