Default GSR Manifold sensors?

Ok, I have a 95 GSR motor, with a Skunk2 Manifold, lately my car has been sputtering like crazy at RPM's between 2k- 4.5k . When I'm driving and I let of the gas it starts to shake as if I was playing with the gas and/ or brake. I went to see a mechanic about it and he pointed at the sensor behind the manifold and said something about "speed, idol, control" or something along those lines. Can someone give me the actual name, so that I can source it out accordingly. If you know where I can get one for cheap or have any other suggestions, please let me know. I'll try to post pics asap. Thanks in advanced for the help.

He probably meant the IACV (idle air control valve). Do you have any CELs?

Indeed, he probably was referring to the IACV, however that causes idle problems, not throttle problems. Its more likely the TPS or MAP (and/or bad wiring)....however generally you will get a check engine light as dogginator said.

IACV sounds about right, I know the mechanic didnt know the exact part name, but it did have to do w/ my idle. Thing is I work all day, and by the time I get home the shops are closed, I guess I may have to wait til Saturday again. If anyone has any suggestions as to where I can get an IACV feel free to post up or PM me, thanks.

iacv will not cause sputtering at 2k -4.5k
a bad iacv will cause idle issue

I get what you guys are saying about the IACV not having to do with the sputteing, but it all starts off with the cars idle going up and down from about 1500 to nearly shutting off and after a few times of that it actually does shut off.

Have you set the base idle for the car? The procedure is in the Helm manual.

Real simple, unplug the iacv, the car should still idle (at 500rpm, sounding/feeling like its going to die out), but other then that, it should run normal. A little throttle should help the idle and it should drive 100% normal. If not, you have other issues. Virtually any of those sensors can cause the problem you are describing...so its time to start narrowing down the selection.

When I had a vacuum leak, the IACV would cause a surge in the idle (from 900-2500 rpms), however on throttle, it still drove fine. The IACV simple controls air, not fuel, thus, it can cause surging in the RPMs, but not sputtering.

the skunk2 manifold i think i know what your talkin about cause my friend had the same problem with his there was a piece on the back of the manifold that you could move up and down really easy and it was seeming like there was a bad vacum leak until we noticed that it was barely connected to the manifold so check that out could be it but maybe not.
