Default getting a code 7 on a gsr swapped eg

im getting a code 7 on a eg swapped gsr... i can drive it all day normal ever get on itr to about 7500 rpm, as soon as i get into 8k or a lil under it check engine comes on... it turns off when i shut the car down only comes back when i rev high on freeway.i have a sk2 intake manifold with stock gsr throttle body with a type r ear (what ever the piece it called that the end of the cable goes into) please someone help me also what should the idle be at? its at 1k flat cant get it lower without the pedal feeling really loose im usuing type r throttle cable thanks..

I think #7 is a TPS (throttle position sensor), you could try adjusting but chances are it needs replaced. When swapping people do mix up the TPS and MAP connections, so you may want to try that too.

im on the 4th tps sensor and replacing it hasnt gotten rid of my code (yes i reset my ecu)... i talked to a mechanic and i was using a silicone gasket sealant in addition to the TB gasket (to keep it on tighter, and he told me the code was being thrown due the sealant clogging one of the holes in the TB. So i'd take a closer look at ur TB, im going to take it apart tom and see whats up.

i reused the old tb gasket cuz every auto store didnt have it instock.. im just about to buy a aftermarket tb... if i get a aftermarket tb say 65-68mm do i need to get the skunk 2 mani bored to that size rite away? or can that wiat to the build in the summer? i think sk2 mani is 64...

You dont have to get your i/m bored right away, it can wait as long as you want. You just wont get full potential out of the new t/b.

hey i changed my TB and cleaned all the crap out of it, and im not getting a code 7 anymore. im sure reusing ur gasket isnt gonna kill you as long as it fits right. my local honda dealer had 1 in stock last i checked. hope this helps

hey thanks man, i was going to clean mine out to but a friend of mine said not 2, because it starts to stick.. anyways thanks for all the help! going to clean it this weekend

got a new tps and a 68mm tb and it still throwing code 7! but i can drive it nice all day wont kick the cel, sometimes i get on it it kicks the code and some times it doesnt. but it only ever comes on when im in high rpm... would my o2 sensor have anything to do with it? im using my 02 sensor from my 92 integra which has about 200k on it

swap out for a new o2 sensor problem went away
