Default 3 wire to 2 wire iacv serious help needed

swaped out my 2000 y7 5speed manifold for a 2000 y8 5 speed manifold. i cut off the orange wire leading to the iacv from the car harness side and cut/splice the other two too the 2 wire iacv for the y8 i installed.

i a using my stock harness and stock ecu, p2e. turned on the car and it idles bad. some other people showed me that one page that shows "how to" the 3 to 2 wire thing, but i dont use that ecu "96-98" i am using my p2e ecu. please help. thanks!

When you say it idles bad, what do you mean? Is it idleing low? or reving up and down quickly?

if you're still using an obd2 ecu why did you do this? when i did this it was because i was converting to obd1... i do not get why you'd do this just because you're getting a new intake manifold?

You did follow instruction right? moved the A14 wire to A12 and leave the orange wire hanging right? Check if you tighten the Manifold good. Look fo vaccum leak. and check if throttle plate is closed completely.

Even though you cut and redid the IAC (even if you did it wrong) you wont idle right because the P2E ecu looks for a 3wire IAC. Since your using a y8 engine now i suggest you get the P2P ecu as that is the correct ecu for it, and finish off your 2wire IAC conversion.

well just search for the 99-00 instructions then. you can't expect us to hand everything to you. it's just pin you take out and do nothing with, then 2 you have to move if i remember correctly.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Rodzknight &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">its not a y8 ENGINE, its an INTAKE MANIFOLD. and what else do i have to do the finish??????</TD></TR></TABLE>

Well then if its only the intake manifold dont do the 2 wire at all. Use your stock throttle body or an auto throttle body and continue to use the 3 wire IAC

well i hooked it back up to my p2e (stock ecu) and it idles like a dream
but still has check engine light on. i even took off the negative battery to reset and still comes on.

also, has a slight jumpy rpm when peddle is pressed at around 10% and then goes away after that. you can even fell that jumpy rpm area while driving. any insights?

what throttle body are you using?

did you damage the pin at all when you removed it from the harnes?

are all your connections, connected?
