have a homemade kit that i put together with a hf manifold and a 14b turbo. when i first got the car tuned it would make all 8 pounds through all gears but first. now it builds 4 to 5 in second 5 in third and 7 in fourth. any ideas why it wont build the boost? on a full standalone tune system and the manifold and adapter plate is welded together. so it isnt a leak

 

do you have a boost controller or u run it of the westegate

 

boost controller... i can turn it all the way open and it still only builds the low boost... it isnt the controller because it worked before and the wastegate setting is 8 psi

 

I'm guessing that you are using an internal wastegate mounted at the turbocharger...correct? You might want to check if the W/G flap is not messed up.

 

if i was you i run it off the wastegate but keep in mine i don't know if you have a internal or external wastegate and see what ur boost is.if you still have the same problem then its ur wastegate

could it be that the lil 14b is just dieing?? is it a junkyard turbo? any smoke from the turbo after hard passes?

 

my first thought was the little bastard was dyin too... no smoke or anything... i am about to have sls make me a manifold for a big 16g or somethin and build the block i guess...

but to answer questions ya it is internally gated and to make sure the stock setting on the internal gate is 8 psi?

is your bov set too soft and leaking in boost? i had a similar prob like this and it was my bov set too soft? adjusted and viola back to 10lbs from a weak 5-6

also check your inlet air filter maybe starving the turbo inlet for air at boost..hope this helps

 

well i think it is too hard because the bov doesnt blow off unless i have at least 3 to 4 pounds built...
