Default Need Garrett turbo help....

I'm trying to figure if this turbo will work on my car. The car is a 1990 Accord. Engine is a jdm f22b, manual trans from a 95 prelude (m2s4 I think) The info on the turbo is as follows. Garrett P/N # 466159-5003 S/N # ffm51231 A/R # .60m24 and there is "-80" stamped on there as well. I'm not so turbo savvy, but know what the acronyms mean, just not how to read them.... I'm not sure if this is the turbo I need or if this is more of a ''B" series turbo. The engine has all stock internals for now. Any ideas???

that is a "57 trim" turbo, and can work fine for the F22b. tune it, run it, and enjoy.

I've seen F22Bs go through a lot of punishment, and a few die after a few weeks. the car can't take more than about 250whp. So in your case about 7-8 psi

Hmm..... OK, so if I go with a good set of pistons and rods and some titanium valvetrain etc, What kind of power do you think this engine is capable of? I can only assume that I will have to sleeve the block as well. I'm not sure if it has them already or not.

The turbo's capability is about 440whp or so, after about 1.2PR (or 17psi), but I would not run at that level all the time, it will shorten the lifespan of the turbo (also depending upon abuse). I mean over a year or 2 for the lifespan of the turbo. With the engine internal modifications you plan, you can go as much as your heart, wallet, and the car can handle.. Its rather a vague question, really..

I see your point. my actual goal was around 350-400 hp. It isn't my daily driver but at the same time I would like something that is somewhat reliable when i need it. I am doing my collection of jdm goodies at the moment, and then engine parts come next. I actually only drive a car to and from work twice a week and even then it's only a 2.2 mile trip. I drive a heavy duty wrecker the rest of the time. my wrecker runs at 30 psi under full boost. on a stock cat engine. its kinda crazy, lol...
Bt the way, I wanted to have the exhaust side of my turbo ceramic coated, and found a shop that will do it for $65, but he can't or won't do the aluminum compressor side. What to do? It will unbolt in the center of the housing, but I will have to take either one or both of the turbine's off and i'm a bit leery about doing that. What is your advice oh wise and honorable one?
