Default new alarm system confusion

When im outside the vehicle the keyless remote unlocks passenger door. When im outside the car and put the key in the door it unlocks both doors. When i push the power door lock switch on either side it only unlocks both doors and locks the passenger door(not the drivers)? Its a 98 lude. Anyone have any ideas whats causing the driver door not to pop?

Make and model of "new alarm" would help.

It could be a wiring problem with the "new alarm", [how it was wired to the OEM power door lock system] although it is a simple neg.(-) pulse system.
Who installed the alarm?

Because you have problems with the OEM power door lock switch, it could be a problem with the OEM "Multiplex Control Unit, or the way the alarm was wired to the OEM system.
Did the door locks work properly before the alarm was installed? 94

If it happened before the alarm was installed then you will need to replace your "Multiplex Control Unit" found under pass. kick panel trim. 94

If the door locks work in any direction it is not the actuators.

Honda/Acura power door locks are a " Ground At Rest Polarity Reversing" door lock system, that means both the leads going to the actuators are grounds when at rest, [not locking or unlocking] when you lock or unlock the doors the ground is "lifted" from one of the leads and 12V+ is supplied to it, the motor runs in one direction, to run in the other direction the ground is "lifted" from the other lead and 12V+ is supplied to it.
The switching, [lifting of the ground and the supplying of 12V+] is done by relays, there are two, [three if your car has "priority door unlock"] of them in the power door lock section of the Multiplex Control Unit, one for lock and one for unlock, it is a good bet that the contact points of the of one of the relays is bad, either a ground or the 12V+.
To test you will need a multimeter, or a test light that will test for both power and ground,
Sorry I do not have the colors of the actuator leads of a "98 lude" but they are probably white/red and yellow/red, both these leads should test as ground until you lock the doors, the white/red should go to 12V+ and the yellow/red should stay a ground, when you unlock the yellow/red should go to 12V+ and the white/red will stay a ground. 94
