205/45/16 here rubs a little on the plastic inner fender up front when turnig and going up/down steep driveways if not careful with speed. the rear was kinda close to the lip of the wheel well so i rolled the lip to be on the safe side. other than that no probs.

i run 205/ 50/ 15's on gsr blades and i have NEVER rubbed... thats also because my muffler and the rest of my car arent dragging on the ground... 1.5 doesnt sound like enough to be tucking so you should be fine.

205 is fine, I ran 50/205/15 on both my del sol's slammed and didnt have any problems just a tiny bit of rub with the wheels all the way turned.

You might want to get wheels with a bit different offset if you want full range-of-motion without rubbing

You bumped a 10 year old thread.

You would need a lot of offset for a 225 16in setup to fit. +35->+43 would likely be ideal.
