Hey I was possibly thinking about putting a short shifter on my 1992 GSR, i read a couple threads about then wearing out the synchros faster because of the fast shifting
also be notchy and not as smooth as a stock shifter. I was wondering what are good brands and will a short shifter shift just as smooth as a stock one and is it worth changin.

i use a skunk2 shifter, single bend and i love it. i think we're in for a long thread here.....

 

i have a short shifter, dunno brand but it grinds on 3rd and 4th if i dont shift super slow ***** with it =\

B&M, skunk2... I have a b&M dual bend. It's pretty good except for that famous vibration at 4k, mine is actually worse and rattles at 4k and up and when I let off the gas, some light music drowns it out tho. THe shifting was great at first, nice and very short, I also installed some ES bushings. Shifting has become loose again, but I think that has to do with the bushings and not the shifter. If I had to do it over again I would probably shell out $50 and go for the skunk2 just to stop the rattling.
