Default eclipse 3100 has no audio playing cds???

it plays the radio fine, but when i put in a cd, i have no audio from the speakers. it reads the cd's and even reads the id3 tag on the screen. it progresses thru the songs, but no sound comes out. the radio plays loud and clear. i tried swapping in another 3100, but the same issue is there. any suggestions?

That was going to be my guess as I had that issue with my truck. I thought my H/U was bad but turned out to be that I didn't have it hooked up to power the factory amps.

it sounds like you have an amp and you have the power antenna lead turning it on. it should be connected to the amp turn on/ remote wire.

no. the car is an acura legend and it has the factory bose system. the harness orignally being used did not retain the amp and was left unplugged. apparently only cd's are run off the amp and radio is powered from just the head unit. once the integration harness was switched in, it worked fine

no. JSPECSIR is correct, the power ant. control lead was used to trigger the Bose amp before you changed/added the proper adapter harness, now the amp control lead is being used.
The output from the Eclipse HU is the same for the radio and CD either with the HUs speaker outputs or the preamp, [RCA] outputs.
The only reason it would work with the radio and not the CD is that the HUs power ant. control lead was used instead of the HUs amp control lead. 94

unless the plug and play harness came from eclipse its possible that the pins are not correct.

I know of no other way that the radio section would have worked and not the CD, as mentioned, maybe a pining problem. 94
