Default Distributor side oil leak

Hi, I did a LSVTEC Conversion 2 months back and every since that day I have an oil leak on the block/head. I've been trying to see where it is coming from and I dont know. I changed the cam seal and distributor seal also.

Here is a picture as an example. It is the black circle

Headgasket maybe.

Is it a small leak or are you leaking a good amount of oil. Can you see any oil leak traces coming from the head, or is it just pooling up on the tranny?

not a big leak, but it is noticable. it just goes down to the block and tranny. Also it appears it is from the side of the head somewhere. Ill take a better look and see what is realy up

i had this same exact leak, i would check the hex bolts on the side of the head. they are the rocker shaft plugs. im pretty sure this is the same thing.

dont forget to check the timing belt side as mine was leaking on that side as well. heres a link to my distress thread.

if its towards the front of the block on the dizzy side then...

i vote cam seal

thats what it was with mine, and its very very common with b series. specially if you have one with the older style cam seal.

degrease engine really well. dry it off. drive around normally for about 10 min. pop hood and see where leak is coming from.

Let's not start the flaming. Did you buy the Eagle LsVtec kit? Need to know if you used an LS Head Gasket or a GSR Head Gasket (given it being a gsr head). If you bought a cheap head gasket it could be leaking, also if you bought the gsr Head Gasket and bored out the little holes for the dowell pins that may cause some leakage. Find out exactly where it is leaking from. It could also be the vtec solenoid; when i did my lsvtec i had a little leak from there. BTW, what intake system is that that's being used?

hi, sorry for the confusion but thats not my car. The headgasket I used was from. The golden eagle kit. I am also using the b16 head. I already changed out the cam seal, distributor seal. I think it may be my vtec solenoid or that hex key. I'm going to go back and see if it is any of those
