oil leak question
There is an oil leak around where the head, transmission, and block meet. This is on a d16y8. The oil in my car is black but the oil leaking is kinda clear. Is there a gasket that goes between the transmission and the block where the tranny oil could be leaking out? I don't think it is the head gasket because my coolant is green as new and again the oil leaking isn't dark. I've been trying to figure this out for about a week now and don't know ****.

Re: oil leak question (YodajdmEK4)
I didn't know that sohc had cam seals, at least not on the distributor side. It is not the distributor or the vtec solonoid. If it were those wouldn't the oil be dark like the oil in my engine? I've checked all that and I am freaking clueless as where it is comming from. I've never heard of the tranny leaking like that so maybe it is the head gasktet. IDK. I think I am going to take it to a shop and put dye in there and check it out.

Re: oil leak question (warren g)
It's not the tranny since the tranny fluid was leveled. I don't know people. I think I might just take the head off and take it to a machine shop. I am just going to rebuild the motor and make sure everything is good.
