take it to the dealership and get a new ignition put in. they weill also give you new keys and re-key your doors. when i had to do mine it was like $230 i think but it had to be done and all wokrs well.

 

so what saved your car?

they broke the steering lock... 2 more mins they could attempt to start it.... >.>

maybe like 20secs.

yea just take it to the dealer

 

you can go and find a used one... then have a locksmith re-key it to your key.
the used one's combiswitch might be just cut off.. so it has no harness.... just swap the combi switch (black thing with wires)

make sure they didn't break/bend the steering column or the steering column mounts... they did that to mine.. had to replace the entire column..

a fuel cutoff switch saved my car...

but they lucked out.. when they yanked my siren.. they shorted it... killing the other sirens... now i hid my exterior siren.. and fused the line with a 3amp fuse... so if it does short.. the fuse blows.. and backup sirens still work =D

 

i just buy a used cylinder from the junk yard with a key 60 $ and put it in... those bolts holding it in arnt in tight bc they are torque bolts. these can be taken out with a hammer and screwdriver

 

Buy a new or used ignition and bring this one and the old one to a locksmith and have him transfer the cylinder over to the good ignition this way you don't have two different keys.

If you short the exterior siren (and it was wired in parallel with your backup siren with the same output wire on your alarm) it will either blow an internal fuse on your alarm or blow the fuse going to your alarm (not likely since this would probably leave the ignition starter kill engaged although possibly bypassed by the theives). Either way this would in turn cause no voltage to go toward your sirens.

Damn that sucks.... What part of cali you from at? Cause the exact same sh*t happen to me. The broke that piece off and took off with my baby. You see on your first picture on the back of the key cylinder with the screws.. If they broke or unscrewed that piece off they can use anything flat to start your car.... They broke my stuff and and broke that back piece and started my car and jetted. I hate broke as$ Thief's who can't afford to buy **** for the car, but to steal ours. Good luck on the repairs, id also take it to honda and have it fixed and re-keyed.

i left it broken because i knew they would try again. they did...

i have a shifter lock on my car and that has stopped them, but just like in your case, i wish they came across the block that wouldnt budge BEFORE they broke the ignition.

 

i JB welded mines back on for a temp. fix

the shifter lock does make me feel a little more comfortable though. i think i might try the jb weld soon though.

 

I had to this problem too. I took my bros ignition housing from his car and took my switch out of mine, and replaced it back into his...works fine now.
