Default How Do you start up a ls vtec for the first time?

Just wondering how everyone first starts their ls-vtecs, without having a tuned ecu it just seems riskey using anything. So Lemme know how you guys start up a built ls vtec for the first time. Also how long do you guys wait to have it tuned?

You don't start it until have have a basemap. Then you start it and drive it onto the trailor and tow it to be tuned.

best bet is to let your tuner take care of that. he will set the base map and everything. some people i know, got their ecu chipped for the mods that they've done, and drove it to their tuner. everything turned out to be fine for them. but i would have to agree with aquafina, take it to your tuner and let him take care of it

whats your setup?

i have a basemap for a ls/vtec (12:1cr, gsr head, pro 1 cams, on stock injectors for startup)

if your compression is close it would be ok to start the car but maybe not drive it.

But what about engine break in? Do they just break it in on the dyno? My lsv will be done soon, and im curious about this.

An LSVTEC with P30 cams, P30 head and P30 intake manifold will most likely like a P30 map (adjusted for engine size).
