Ok, here we go.

Car is a 91, converted to OBD1, also MPFI conversion. Engine is an H22. I've been diagnosing several codes since my swap, TPS was never one of them, it just suddenly popped up one day. I rewired the TPS sensor ground and it went away, but a couple weeks later it came back.

Car idles high, 2000+, even when warm. Still throwing TPS code. When I try to adjust tps, I get 5V from the middle wire, open and closed throttle, no matter where I move tps. Installed BRAND NEW tps, same problem. Checked voltage between A11 and A22, 5V. Made sure I switched outside wires of TPS, 5V. Ideas?

Code is not one of my original start up codes, it just showed up.

 

Unplug the TPS, and check for 5V at the sensor connector, between the two end pins. If that checks out, check the

Number 3 is ground, so make sure that wire and continuity to a body ground.
Number 1 is sensor supply, that needs to have 5V with the key ON (II) Also check for continuity with the battery + terminal with the keys out.
Number 2 is sensor output, key ON (II). Closed the value should be .49V to .50V, fully open should be 4.5 to 4.8V.

If these outputs are all good, the last thing to check is continuity of the sensor output wire at the ECU harness.

 

Just realized I checked voltage on the wrong plug on the ECU side. I have a good feeling as to why I have a TPS code now.

 

what gave you the tps sensor code gibsanez ? and what did you do to fix it as many member here have the same problem and dont know how to fix the problem

 

When doing my DIY OBD1 conversion, I didn't put the TPS wire in D11, so I don't know where it ended up. If i have to just re-wire it, I believe that D11 goes to the middle wire?

Number 3, the ground, grounds at D21 or D22, they are both sensor grounds.
Number 2, the middle wire, comes from D11
Number 1, the 5v sensor supply, comes from D20, which is sensor voltage.
