drove through crazy puddles need help!!
ok its raining like crazy right now and i needed to drive though some crazy puddles to get to work. well anyway after a few of these puddles my car started jerk in gear. i pulled over poped the hood and saw the my filter came off the intake pipe i have going to my turbo and was just laying around in the bay. i put it back on and the car seems to have gotten back to normal. worst part of it all was that we had a snow storm last night and there was mad salt rocks everywhere and i dont know how long exactly that filter has been off. im paranoid that that salt and water could have gottin into the pipe and went to the turbo and engine.
but im sure unless it was a galon of water the turbo would burn off everything to steam before it even had a chance to get to the engine. the salt is what is worrying me the most. im very paronoid.
i can leave work to check everything at home right now, what should i be looking for? my first guess would be to take out the plugs and try to turn the engine over to see if any water comes out correct? and then change the plugs. anything elese i should be checking??? thanks. it would kill me if something broke i just had the motor built and am not looking to have it break after a week of getting it back.
ok thanks a lot for the help

i find it hard to believe that anything could get past you intercooler. remove your piping and make sure there is no water. change plugs and you should be OK
Yeah I would say to pull of you charge piping. if you see anything unpleasant after that I would pull the intercooler. And then possibly replace your plugs.
But I think If everything is running fine now that you are good.
I live and philly. that was some crazy weather over the past 24 hrs.

just like he said, it wonldnt get pass thru the intercooler or would of turned into steam once it got to the turbo. besides that the water has to travel a long way/curves/bends to actually get to the intake manifold itself.
i avoided a few big puddles tonight, lucky i have a sri. the past 2 days has been crazy in philly
