Default will a 92-95 head vtec head fit on a 96-2000 block ?

im building a turbo charged single vtec and im wondering if i can use a 92-95 vtec head on my 97 or 2000 block and will it be better .i keep saying 97 - 2000 cause i have two blocks wich one should i use

Assuming both are d-series parts, then yes, you can do that. In this case, the blocks are probably almost identical. If you can tell us the engine code on the front, we can help you better.

yes one is a d16 z6 and one is a d16y8

yes...you can put a d16z6 head on a d16y8 block. its the same head except for combustion chambers i think.

is that a direct bolt up? isnt there an oil passage that needs to be modified?

For a boosted application, I'd recommend the Z6 block over the Y8. Especially for it's oil pump problems; but that can be corrected with a correctly ported pump. For the heads, the cc of the Y8 is a tad bit different, but nothing major. So Z6 block & Z6 head,Y8, or even a JDM D15b.
