Default Mini Me d15b8 w/ d16y8 head... Please help?

We have a 97 EX that needs the bottom end rebuilt...So until this is finished we want to put the y8 head on a d15b8 block and tranny...Does any one have any info on this or is it a simple head on block swap..I've heard that there is a oil line needing to be drilled into the block...any info would help...Thanks

you are think of the b series motors. for sohc all you have to do is take out the oil jet and bolt the head to the block.

Someone said you had to block off an oil passage, is that what you're talking about?

please correct me if i'm wrong, but the b8 is and 8valve, right? if you're running a 16valve head, there should be reliefs on the pistons for the extra valves... or is piston-valve clearance negligable?

ok the D15B6 is the 8 valve block (i know because i have one) but if their is another 8 valve block out there then you have to use D15B1,2,7 pistons. if the pistons on your block look like this then you need to use new pistons:
