Default Check Engine Light, No Speedo or VTEC? Speed Sensor?

My check engine light went on and the speedometer and VTEC stopped working? I think its just the Speed Sensor, but would that cause the VTEC to stop engageing?

I replaced the sensor, but nothing changed! The gear was broken on the old sensor, so it deffinately needed to be replaced. I checked the #15 fuse which is the alternator/VSS and now everything works. Thanks polishedtrd!
