hello i just purchased a 2000 honda civic si. its been starting fine for a couple of days and all of a sudden i try to start my car and it cranks REALLLY SLOW. it starts but it soiunds like its not about to start at all. like imagine the sound of a car cranking when you turn the key but it sounds VERY SLOWLY cranking. could this be a starter issue??? thanks its been starting like that all the time now.

 

could be starter, but honda starters dont really fail real often if they are OEM

I would look into the battery loosing its charged. since its winter, the cold takes a huge toll on batterys

 

Check battery, and alternator if needed.

 

most likely it's the batter, what's the cca reading? and if you have a dvom handy, measure batt voltage. it should be around 12.6 if not, have it recharge.
