Default frozen starter?!?

anyone heard of this happening? (without washing your car or driving through a creek)

with these negative temps lately, my car doesn't seem to want to start. i've ruled out a battery since it won't even start using a jump/charger. it sounds like a bad starter "click-click-click-click", but i just changed the starter last year.

anyone have any other ideas what may be going on?

Have someone try to start the car and lightly tap the starter. If this gets the car to start then just change out the starter.

Sounds like a battery.

I have seen a few cars do the same "click-click" you are talking about and it would not jump start but the battery was still causing it not to start.

Try swapping in for a new battery, or disconnect the battery and connect the jumper directly to the cables.

doubtful. i have a jump/charger that is capable of starting a car (essentially without a battery).
